To our valued friends & customers,

Our inboxes are filled with COVID-19 e-mails from many businesses and organizations. The panic this virus has caused is incredible. People with children have found their schools are closing. My curling club cancelled all leagues temporarily. Toilet paper is in short supply, although I’m not sure why? Sport events, movies, etc. are closed. The news media, as is its wont, is whipping people into a frenzy. Politicians are using the outbreak to gain advantage.

It is our belief that, we should be getting our medical information, unfiltered, from the medical experts. To that end we’d like you to have links to various expert resources that can provide you with relatively unbiased information about the disease. We’ve also included links to some resources if you’re financially impacted by the COVID-19 fallout, as we have been.

For people suffering financial losses as a result of the virus, there are some other resources. For example, in New Jersey employees who have been temporarily laid off due to a voluntary or involuntary closure by their employer can collect Unemployment Insurance. It is unclear whether Pennsylvania will follow suit, but the Federal Government has allowed all state to do this.

Banks, credit card companies and mortgage companies are, for the most part, making accommodations for customers as they would for any natural disaster. The President just announced that student loan interest would be waived.

Our company will take up all recommended measures, i.e. avoiding handshakes, frequent hand washing, having sick employees stay home. We will do our best to help you when you need us.

When the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018 was passed one of the items that got added back in was the energy efficiency tax credit which had expired at the end of 2016. RIP Spirit

Today I lost my best friend of eleven years – Spirit, a large Boxer/Pit mix. He was a rescue, adopted from a local organization, AFEW. When I went to adopt a dog, I asked if they had a Chihuahua or maybe a Dachshund. They said “we’ve got the perfect dog for you,” and brought out a 95# mutt with a head like an alligator. Although I had a small dog in mind, they were right. He was a gentleman. He sat, stayed, heeled, was gentle and sweet, a really lovely dog. For eleven years he was a faithful companion, always at my side. When he first was diagnosed with cancer, I began bringing him to work with me so that if something happened he wouldn’t be alone. He made friends with all the staff and the regular visitors, and loved to lay out in the sun. More than two years after the initial diagnosis, he finally succumbed to the disease. To say that I am heartbroken is an understatement. Here is a Kipling poem that speaks to the pain of losing a dog better than I can… SG

Need one Princeton area home for TV show

Homeowners have an opportunity for a free, no obligation whole house Home Performance diagnostic if they are willing to let us film in their home and appear on camera. Home Performance is the science of testing existing houses to determine how safe, energy efficient, durable and comfortable they are, and to prescribe solutions to problems found. Please read through the entire post to see if your home is a good fit.

SG Heating & Air Conditioning LLC is the local sponsor of the “Proof is Possible” tour in Princeton NJ. Nationally recognized experts, Corbett and Grace Lunsford are coming to Princeton the week of June 19th, 2016 with a “Tiny House on Wheels” to teach local homeowners, realtors and contractors about Home Performance. During the week they will also be filming an episode of their Home Diagnosis TV show. We are looking for a home in which to film the show.

The purpose of the TV show is to educate homeowners about Home Performance. After the diagnostics are performed on your home, Corbett will create a “prescription” for the necessary changes to the house that will improve its comfort, lower its energy costs, and improve its safety and durability. There is no cost, fee or obligation of any kind to the homeowner for this. You will receive the complimentary whole house home performance evaluation and energy audit in exchange for your allowing us to film in your home and your on camera appearance.

The results of the evaluation will be provided to the homeowner, The homeowner has the option to do the work prescribed or not, using our company’s services, or any other. The work prescribed is not included and will not be free, however, you may be able to take advantage of NJ State programs like Home Performance with Energy Star(R) that offer substantial rebates and 0% interest loans. If you do choose to follow the prescription and make home improvements, there is a possibility of a follow up results show filming. In consideration of your participation we will offer discounted pricing should you decide to do any project with us, but you don’t have to.

We are looking for a detached single family home built somewhere between 1950 and 1980. Naturally, it should be a home that hasn’t had a home performance project performed or recent installation of energy efficient HVAC systems. The home must be owned and occupied by you and not be a rental or commercial owned property. We prefer a home with gas fired warm air HVAC, but can consider homes with hot water heat and oil fired heat.

Proof Is Possible Tour teaches homeowners and home buyers to take control of their houses with diagnostics, and get proof they got what they paid for

Shopping for home improvements or a new home will never be the same, now that the Proof Is Possible Tour is coming to town. Renowned experts Grace and Corbett Lunsford (with their new baby) are on a 20 ­city U.S. Tour from April 2016­-January 2017 in a high performance tiny house on wheels (THOW). Their mission is simple: to revolutionize the home market by teaching consumers and contractors alike to use scientific testing to prove the work gets done to quality standards.
